Timothy and Laura Mershon

This last year has been the most joy filled season for both of us! We have been good friends for many years, attending the same church, serving together in ministry, showing up to all the same parties and neither of us ever thought the other was interested. After a long season of waiting on the Lord and learning to surrender to His plan… it was very clear that God had opened a very special door to both of us.

In May 2019, we went on our first date, lasting six hours. It was evident that evening, that if we pursued a relationship together, a deep, rich, and intentional friendship was in store. That is exactly what the past 11 months have been. There has never been a lack of adventure. We are often watching the sunset, picking wildflowers, spending time with our families, finding a new coffee shop, star gazing, exploring our city and falling more in love with every new adventure.

From Laura: In February 2020, after another day filled with sweet adventures, Timothy led me to a beautiful place to watch the sunset. He had packed a picnic and brought a special gift for me which he had put together himself. Opening it, I found a scrapbook journal that timelines our whole relationship. After talking and reminiscing through the sweet memories that all the pictures held, we stood to watch the big Texas sun sink into the hill country. He asked me if I would date him for another month (as he always does) and then knelt, pulling out a ring engraved with stars and wildflowers, and asked me to marry him and date him forever.
